A Limited Edition Watch With A Spiraling Display
A unique vortex shaped lens, a colorful spiraling display and bright EL backlighting combine to create Uzumaki.
Uzumaki means whirlpool in Japanese. One of the most attractive features of this watch is its custom made acrylic lens. Concentric circles descend from the edge of the case into the centre of the watch creating the appearance of a whirlpool. The stainless steel ring that surrounds the lens appears to float above.
A Custom Designed Stainless Steel Watch
The attention to detail in Uzumaki's construction is evident in each part of the watch. Made using stainless steel, the custom curves and brushed surfaces on the case enhance the vortex theme.
Available in black or silver with a blue or green display, Uzumaki has a fully adjustable strap to fit small and large wrists comfortably. The time can be set just like a conventional watch by turning the crown.
The colored EL backlight can be activated by pressing the crown. This illuminates the spirals for a short time creating a night-time glow.

Like all watches from Tokyoflash Japan, Uzumaki is a limited edition design. This means it’s guaranteed to be an original watch that not many other people own.

How To Read The Time
Reading the time on Uzumaki is just like reading the time on a conventional watch. The colored swirls indicate the time: hours on the outer swirl and minutes on the inner swirl. The hand indicates seconds for precise timing.
From Concept To Reality
The idea for Uzumaki was submitted to Tokyoflash Japan by Firdaus Rohman from Malaysia. Find out more about the original concept on the Tokyoflash Japan Design Studio Blog. Blog reader & watch designer Firdaus says:
