A Limited Edition Motion Sensor Watch
A limited edition watch with a cryptic time display made up of vertical lines, Online Wood uses a built in accelerometer to reveal the digital time when you turn your wrist.
Available in two styles, all dark sandal wood or maple wood with dark sandal wood lines in a choice of natural, blue or red LCD display, Online Wood features time, date, alarm and animation.
A Custom Made, Limited Edition Wood Watch
Like all wood watches from Tokyoflash Japan, Online Wood has been carefully crafted from 100% natural wood and is a limited edition design. The watch has an adjustable strap and is a lightweight design suitable for small and large wrists. A clear coating has been applied to Online Wood for protection and durability.
A Futuristic Animation Feature
An animation mode is programmed into Online Wood. When activated the display will animate every two seconds. This can be turned on or off in the settings. Due to the natural qualities of wood, the color and grain may be slightly darker or lighter than shown in the photos.
Custom Designed Packaging
This watch comes in an exclusive gift box. It features graphics of iconic watches from Tokyoflash Japan past and present on a red background.
How To Read The Time
Online Wood is a digital watch so is as easy to read as any other wrist watch. The "always on" display is made up of vertical lines which look like a cryptic pattern to outsiders. Turn the watch towards you and the lines fall away to reveal the time in hours and minutes. One push of the lower button changes the display to date mode which can be read in the same way as the time. The digits that make up the time are easy to learn.
From Concept To Reality
The idea for Online was submitted to Tokyoflash Japan by Sam Jerichow from Germany. Find out more about the original concept on the Tokyoflash Japan Design Studio Blog. Blog reader & watch designer Sam says:
"When I received the message about Online being chosen for production, I could do nothing but smile! I actually hopped on my chair! After some months I was shown the first illustration and was utterly impressed. The first product images then just blew my eyes off! Now I can hold Online, a real product based on an idea of mine in my own hands – offline if you will. What an irony! And this is just awesome!
