A Cool Carbon Fiber LED Watch Design
Inspired by aviation and automotive themes, the Blade Carbon Fiber watch from Tokyoflash Japan features a custom made case and lens styled like a turbine engine, from beneath which digital tube LEDs rotate like a propellor to display the time in an unconventional yet easy to read way.
The watch features two time modes, date, alarm and is USB rechargeable. The case is made using carbon fiber and the watch comes complete with a carbon fiber effect leather wrist band.
Carbon fiber is a special material often used in motorsport and aerospace applications. Manufactured using carbon atoms that are bonded together, woven into a fabric and formed into a composite, the carbon fiber used to make the outer case of this watch has been cut and machined prior to assembly. An extremely strong material with a distinctive deep weave pattern, carbon fiber is lightweight making it ideal for wrist watches.
Easy To Read with Two Time Modes in One Watch
There are two time modes programmed into Blade Carbon Fiber. Press the upper button to display the time. Take a look at the diagrams below to find out more. The date can be viewed in the same way as the time by pressing the upper button twice.
LED Watch Design With Time, Date & Alarm
Available in a choice of three LED colors, Blade Carbon Fiber has a date mode, alarm, a light-up animation and is USB rechargeable. Activate the light-up animation and the vivid LED blades rotate rapidly like a jet engine once every 15 minutes between 6pm and midnight. To recharge Blade Carbon Fiber, connect it to your computer with the USB cable provided. A full charge takes 3.5 hours and each charge should last 1 month.

This watch comes in an exclusive gift box. It features graphics of iconic watches from Tokyoflash Japan past and present on a red background.
How To Read The Time
Press the upper button. The LED blades spin around the face highlighting three blades in turn which indicate the hour and minutes. It's super easy to follow if you imagine the blades as numbers on a clock.
Press the upper button. The LED blades show hours and minutes at a glance. The lit blade indicates the hour, the flashing blade indicates five minute groups and four dots indicate exact minutes 1-4.
From Concept To Reality
The idea for Blade Carbon Fiber was submitted to Tokyoflash Japan by Peter Fletcher from the UK. Find out more about the original concept on the Tokyoflash Japan Design Studio Blog. Blog reader & watch designer Peter says:
"When Blade (originally known as 'P-Zero') was picked to be developed I couldn't believe my dream was finally coming true. Elements of another of my designs 'Turbine' (a personal favourite of mine) were incorporated, which have taken my original concept to new levels.
